Summer is Here!
The library would like to introduce our new Children’s Librarian and Programs Director, Lesa Byers! Lesa is a resident of Rimersburg and has been a volunteer for many years! She helped the library through the fun project of rebarcoding our collection, helped last summer with our reading program, and helped raise money through fundraisers with Friends of the Library! We’re excited to have her and hope you take advantage of her programs in the future!
Summer Reading starts tomorrow! Thursday, June 4th is our Summer Reading Kick-Off!!! From 1-3 p.m. come check out an Instrument Petting Zoo! Learn about different instruments, how they are played, and get to have a hands-on experience! Participants will also be able to register for our Summer Reading Program and list their reading goals. We’ll have Summer Reading bags and bookmarks as well! That Saturday patrons will be able to access a link on our library’s web page, www.eccles-lesher.org, that will provide you direct access to online logging, so you can keep track of your summer reading lists anywhere at anytime! We’ll also be able to keep track here at the library the following Monday, June 8th.
Our eight week Summer Reading weekly programs will begin Thursday, June 11th from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Each week come down to the library for a different program connected to our Be Creative @ the Library theme! We’ll have fun this summer with art, music, and anything else that involves creativity! These weekly programs will be held through July 23rd, with our Summer’s End event taking place that day. We will have Ventriloquist Helen Hammett from Conneautville, PA joining us that day for a great performance!
Beginning this Saturday, June 6th Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library will begin it’s summer hours on Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A big thanks goes out to the Union High School Outdoors Club for helping spruce up the landscaping at the front of the library! Members of this group came down and pruned, weeded, and re-mulched, bringing the front of the library back to life! It looks great and the library is very appreciative!
Community Action, Inc. of Clarion County will be at the library this Friday, June 5th from noon to 4 p.m. Many services are available through this group so please stop in and speak with their representative! Any questions you may have can also be directed to their Clarion Office at (814) 226-4785 or toll free at 1-800-997-7661. It is only through utilizing these services that they can continue to offer them, so come and check them out!
